Tattersail?
Is this a tattersall pattern? This shirt is short-sleeved and looks like this. I have worn it both kilted and trousered on several occasions.
Just curious about the style of the pattern. Thanks.

Bren , I am afraid not. Incidentally it's Tattersall not Tattersail. A Tattersall shirt is indeed small checks but normally in two or more colours . Pretty much like this -

There are three colors in the lines on this one: Green, light brown, and black.

Thanks for clearing this up....I have to admit that I wasn't quite clear what was meant by tattersall and have always meant to ask....
Best

Most of the Neo Traditional (online) British shirtmakers and the traditional ones, too, have a handful of tattersall shirts, usually under "country" or some similar category. Almost all of them have spread collars. Try Charles Tyrwhitt or TM Lewin or Joseph Turner. They all have sales and promotions regularly, but the best price seems to be about $40- $45 each. Lands End sometimes offers spread collar shirts in checks, but I don't see any tattersalls in their current offerings.
Some take the high road and some take the low road. Who's in the gutter? MacLowlife
