It's amazing how many people think the pleats go to the front. I was at a black tie dinner once where I saw someone wearing the kilt backwards. I admit, I had to have a little chuckle first before I went over and tapped him on the shoulder and let him know that it was on wrong. I wound up helping him get everything on right.

My good deed for the day, I guess.

Not, you are not at all alone. More often than not I don't wear one, either.

I rarely wear a kilt pin. I dont know why, it just seems like a hassle and I have no problems keeping my apron down without them. I would much rather have a new pair of hose than a kilt pin.

They really don't add much weight, so are mostly decorative.

As to the hassle, one secret is to get a different kilt pin for each kilt and leave it on the kilt. This also saves the wear of constantly adding and removing the pin.

I consider the pin one more way to add individual expression to the kilt and try to find a pin that matches the kilt in symbolism. For instance, I have a celtic dove pin for my Dove tartan kilt.

I contacted the company about the backward kilts, and asked if there was a reason they were displayed that way. Haven't heard back yet. Will let you know if I do.

Side note: The kilt items listed say "added January 1 2006". Does that mean they have been up there for 2+ years like that and no one has said anything?

Don't wear something like this... though it is a costume.

I note that it costs $250... For that, you could have a quality real kilt.

I particularly like the argyle socks.

What the hell is that? It looks like it's part of clown suit!
