As far as I can from google the Hall's address is:
555 Buel Ave.
Pacifica, CA
I'll use that to gauge the distance to the nearby hotels

Here's Madalyn's information on the hall and nearby hotels (again?)
---
Directions to the American Legion Hall:
Coming from the north (i.e., from San Francisco) via Highway 1 south through Pacifica, the freeway becomes a highway with cross streets. At the second stoplight turn left (from the far left-turn lane) onto Fassler Ave. (Note the 3 hotels on the ocean side of Highway 1.) Make an immediate left (in a left-turn lane) on Rockaway Beach Ave. and at the first stop sign turn right on to Buel and the Hall (555 Buel) is on your left. Parking is available on the west and east sides of the building.
Coming from Highway 280 heading north (i.e., from San Jose) take the Highway 35 off-ramp (Skyline Drive) to Pacifica. At the 4th stoplight you turn left on Sharp Park Road. Continue west until the road ends and make a right-hand look onto Highway 1 south towards Half Moon Bay and second stoplight, etc. etc.
---
Hotels:
All these hotel are a 2-3 block walk away from the American Legion Hall. Or maybe someone who isn't drinking (not bloody likely) could drive them over. I checked the minimum prices for a double room without an ocean view. All these hotels are within 1/2 block of the beach and Nick's Restaurant for Sunday morning brunch (which I recommend). Check their webpages as sometimes the rates will be less, particularly within the 30 days before the 20th of January.
Pacifica Motor Inn $65-75 200 Rockaway Beach Ave (650) 359-7700 www.pacificamotorinn.com
Holiday Inn Express $117-122 519 Nick Gust Way (650) 355-3000 www.hiepacifica.com
Best Western Lighthouse $179 105 Rockaway Beach Ave (650) 355-6300 www.bestwesternlighthouse.com

It makes planning difficult....how many tables and so on. Let us know ASAP, like AT LEAST 4-5 days in advance. It's not the money, it's the planning.
...but yeah, sure. The opportunity to take pics of three X-Marks tartan kilts all at once is too good to pass up.
MIND YOU, world 'o X-Marks. Much as we love ya, this is NOT an open invitation for thirty people to suddenly appear out of the woodwork and want to show up at the last moment. I've known that CT *might* be able to come for a while. We can make adjustments for last minute folks like Ashley who are coming with SF Bay Area "regulars".....but this notice has been up on this board for TWO MONTHS, you've had plenty of time to get a check to Madalyn.

The Band rehearsed tonight.
We have a blow-the-house-down reel set... a reel for dancing...and a waltz for dancing. Of course there will be accompaniment to Auld Lang Syne, and Piper George will be opening the house up during whisky-tasting time, as well.

Alan,
Who is doing the "Toast to the Lasses"?
The F-H.C.A.G. has her response ready.
I have the "Address to a Haggis" memorized.
I will be smoking the salmon next Friday.
We have decided to try and teach the dance "The Merry Reapers" (pretty basic steps but fun)
We are both looking forward to seeing everyone.
Cheers

I am having difficulties drafting a Lassie-Toaster.
Mind you, the fiddler, who is Jewish and NOT Scottish has volunteered to toast the Haggis. That takes Me off of the Haggis - Toast, which is good. We should spread the wealth and I'm already yammering on at length with the Immortal Memory...which I have to draft up this weekend, BTW..
I've a few more potential victims to approach, however.
