I have to pipe up about the X-Marks tartan. The only people Jerry would sell this to would be people on this board. OK, well a few other folks might buy one, but it wouldn't be a big seller. It doesn't make sense for him to make kilts, where he might only sell 20 or 30 of them.

Secondly, the X-marks tartan came into existance because 1. Matt Newsome designed it...2. Steve from Freedom Kilts took it upon himself to actually organize an order, and 3. Gordon Kirkbright, who occasionally participates in this board, went out on a limb and wove it when he had an order.

Gordon has a mess of "slightly damaged" 16 ounce wool X-Marks tartan for sale for a lousy twenty bucks (Canadian) a meter plus shipping. We've heard from half a dozen people on this board who have ordered this stuff and made kilts out of it. It's "AVAILABLE", and high quality stuff doesn't cost that much.

I would hope that Jerry...or anyone else in the business, would respect the commitment that both Steve and Gordon have made to make this otherwise totally unavailable tartan actually available to folks, and not undercut them by going to Pakistan and having an inexpensive knockoff made.
