Every public place in America has a kitchen. How do you think we all got so doughy?

Church is supposed to be a comfortable place. If your sgian makes other worshippers uncomfortable, I would think the polite thing to do would be to leave it in the car. People either understand or they don't. If they don't, and a 4 inch knife means the difference between having a good church experience or fearing for their lives, then under no circumstances mention the nail clippers in your sporran.

You could use the same arguement for wearing a kilt in church. I'm sure a man in a kilt will make some people uncomfortable in church. Should you then go change into trousers so as not to make any parishoners uncofortable? I know where of I speak. My father is a retired pastor and I spent every Sunday morning of my life from birth to 18 years old in church. During that time I observed people getting upset at all manner of ridiculous things. At the age of three I was grabbed and yelled at for running in the sanctuary as it was some sort of insult to God! My mother was confronted on more than one occassion because she was wearing pants!!! We're talking the 1970s and 1980s here, not the 19th century. Should my mother have left church and changed into a dress for those nimrods? Trust me on this, you are going to make someone uncomfortable no matter how you dress or what items you carry. If someone fears for their life because you have a tiny knife tucked into your hose they are in need counseling and perhaps anti-anxiety medication. Likely those people are the same type that fear for their lives when they see someone with skin that isn't the same shade as theirs walking toward them on the sidewalk.

That's alright, sometimes they forget to turn ours off when its cold out!!
