Thanks to Ken Potter whose brother-in-law made the stone in memory of Turpin that Dixiecat posted on a previous page. I attended for the first time with Cindy and Turp's two youngest kids. Had a great time camping out for the first time in more than 50 years. Lots of strong emotions as I got to know Turp's many friends at the games, particularly in MacVillage and among the Gordons.

I have come across these photos taken this year (2013) at the GMHG of the Clan Colquhoun representation there. Members of XMTS enjoy. Some of these include Sir Malcolm Colquhoun, visiting Clan Chief of Clan Colquhoun, honored guest at this years games.

Question.......When attending the games, where is the place to stay that's the most fun? Not the most comfortable but the most fun?
I'd like to attend the games next year (first time) and it seems to look like the camping area is full of spontaneous people, and constant activity. Now, I've never been to the Carolina's (north or south) but it's where my GG Grandfather was from back in 1805 and further.
I wasn't able to attend the Grand Father mountain highland games this year, but plan on being there next year, and want the "full experience"...LOL... So, with that in mind, I'm looking for (and open to) any (and most) recommendations on where to stay, and what to do.
