I had one on, and on top of that, unseen beneath my waistcoat, the tie was tucked into the top of my kilt. However, being me, I could probably superglue it down and still have it go askew.

We'd love to see some pics from the Big Day, both of Celtic and Caribbean threads

I believe there will be at least two talented photographers present!

Know anyone who might be able to do a spot weld?

And I thought that I'm the only one that sort thing happens to...

Just to clear up a common misconception :-
The Scots, are also British
The Welsh, are also British
The Northern Irish, are also British.
The English are also British.
And I quite agree, a flat cap worn with the kilt looks absolutely awful!

My apologies. I didn't mean to imply Scots aren't British. Only that flat caps are a "whole of Britain" thing as opposed to a Scottish thing (I believe they originated in England and spread from there).

Not to worry, the vintage Mackie balmoral has arrived from eBay. Despite my normally wearing a 59, this 60 fits just fine. And now that I’ve gently hand washed it, it’s even clean (the water was light brown for the first go-round).
