So a vintage Sterling Silver hallmarked kilt pin went for $10.

Yet every day people are paying twice that for crappy Pakistani pot-metal kilt pins with fat, dull pins that punch holes in your kilt. (The pins on vintage Scottish-made kilt pins are very slender and sharp and leave no sign that they were ever there, after you take them off.)

By the time I saw your earlier post on the auction, it was already over.

Robert Mackie Glengarry, diced, with Mackie label, size 59, here in the USA for $20.

Appears to be in very good condition judging from the clean crisp label.

The Glengarry is in very good condition and the size 59 fits me well.

I removed the Clan Gunn badge (since that isn't my clan). The badge is a Rhum Lyon Ltd. Is that a common brand?

I just looked it up, searching "rhum lyon pin" on ebay https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...777.m570.l1313

I'll have to compare these to older brands like Carrick Jewellery (1971) and Art Pewter Silver (1968) both of which have had their stuff re-cast by later firms.

EDIT: I found a match with Rhum Lyon badges, Gaelic Themes.

Since only vintage Rhum Lyon badges show up on Ebay etc and Gaelic Themes are in current production, and also because Gaelic Themes has a track record of buying out other firms and re-branding their stuff, I'm going to assume that Rhum Lyon was the firm who created this line of badges and around 2005 were acquired by Gaelic Themes.
