    UAR items

While searching through Ebay for sporrans I see several horsehair sporrans coming from the United Arab Emirates. Has anybody had any dealings with these people - this site? How is it that they seems to be selling ex-military sporrans?

No dealings here, but what I saw were not ex-military sporrans:
Authentic reproduction of Cameron highlander hair sporran. Made just like the originals using authentic materials: horse hair, leather and brass. No plastic or nylon.

What Price Glory is a UAE company and deals in both British and American military surplus. They are very specific on their web site when something is real or a reproduction. And from the purchases I have made from them, their reproductions have been indistinguishable from originals other than they are "brand new." Great company to deal with too.

I guess I should have looked at the example link. That is What Price Glory selling on eBay. Their site is at: http://onlinemilitaria.net/default.asp

    hope this helps.

I was chexking out WhatPriceGlory.com a moment ago. How is the quality of their items? Are they historically accurate reproductions? I am aware that they do sell a lot of surplus but the sporrans, for example, seem to be a too-good-to-be-true price. The kikts look good and are about what I would expect to pay for an MOD surplus or reproduction kilt.

Sorry if I derailed the thread. XMTS has turned me on to a lot of vendors. Thank you, gents.
