Bride to Be On The Hunt For Awesome Kilt Found On This Very Forum Help :)
Hi Guys,
On looking for something unique and awesome kilt wise for my Husband to be for our wedding I came across an unusual variation of Celtic Football Kilt. I want this for our wedding and so does Groomzilla haha. What Groomzilla wants he gets lol.
Anyway, it is finding out where I can find this kilt to be made so any help from the owner of that kilt or someone that can help greatly appreciated here is the pic from that post.

Thanks In advance

Our own Hamish had/has a kilt made up this way-

but searching around I haven't found out WHERE to get one, just that they are "rare"...
ith:
Edit: I wanted to add that there IS a Celtic FC tartan - apparently woven by House of Edgar in 2005. So if your groom wants a kilt that might be a little more wearable in more situations that might be the way to go.

According to an old list Riverkilt had of Hamish's kilt kollection, the above kilt was acquired by Hamish in 2004 from Club Kilts in East Kilbride.
The photo you referenced of the kilt on the table, came from this thread http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...04/index2.html
The original thread was started in October, 2011.
Hope that helps.

Club Kilts is indeed gone. They were in business for less than three years.
I actually got to see and hold Hamish's kilt when I visited him last.
It is Wool in about 13oz and fully traditional in construction. Probably cost Hamish in the $400.00-$500.00 price range.
I have no idea where someone would find some of this fabric now as I believe all the Club Kilt fabrics were specially woven for them.

I wear the kilt because: Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

I would suggest contacting Crieff based, Peter MacDonald. We know him here, on the forum, as figheadair. Peter is a tartan historian, as well as, tartan design consultant, and small lot weaver.

You could also try Scotweb's sister company, D.C. Dalgliesh. They will weave small orders, also. Scotweb's owner, Nick Fiddes, is part of the forum.

Either of these gentlemen should be able to help you.
Btw, welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials.
