    Kilt Jacket on Ebay

Just saw this on Ebay and thought someone might be interested.

If you are of considerably less girth than me, that is.

It is a very nice one. It is also quite possibly a fit for me, but I passed on my thoughts of it as it is a bit more than I can pay... especially after my recent purchases and ebay bids.

Yes I saw that! Pretty much my dream jacket!

But I haven't been able to wear that size since I was in college.

For those of us who have 'grown' over the years there's a very nice tweed jacket size 52 on Ebay now too.

I love that jacket... but as it near always the case, it is too small for me. I'm not an especially rare size, and perhaps that is my problem. Everyone wears my size and so they go quickly.

Seems like the vast majority of vintage jackets that show up on Ebay are 38 or 40. There are dozens of those for every one that shows up in 42, hundreds of 38s and 40s for every one that shows up in anything approaching my size (48 or 50).

Hah! I scored a rare size 36 lovat green tweed kilt jacket on ebay. There was a lot of hassle with the shipping, with confusion on both ends. But I'm glad I persevered because it fits me as if it were made for me. Very happy with it. I had been eyeing this jacket too, but it's too large for me.
