UK Shipping diverted an item I had purchased and I received a full discount.

But did the seller get his item back?

With that scam I mentioned I got a full refund but the seller didn't get anything.

If a seal item gets through the UK side it could still get seized on the US side, by US Customs, in which case the item is destroyed and nobody gets compensated by the US government. I wonder what Ebay would do in that case.

A few years ago I bought a seal sporran on eBay from the UK and it made it into the US just fine. I think it helped that the seller didn’t indicate that it was seal.

Since it isn't available here, I have no idea how to positively identify it. To me, it would just be a random fur or leather.

At least in our California/Arizona/Nevada Highland Games there are always seal sporrans for sale.

They're illegal of course, imported by the hundreds into the US from Pakistan.

These aren't fake, they're real seal. I've owned plenty of vintage Scottish-made seal sporrans and seal is unmistakable.

Here's a table at one of our local Games earlier this year.

There's a category of sporrans one sees fairly often on Ebay: sporrans with aftermarket modifications.

A sub-category of this is civilian sporrans which a veteran has stuck military badges on.

Here's a WE Scott civilian "Day" sporran onto which someone, most likely a veteran, has stuck an Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders collar badge and tunic button. £25.

Somebody not familiar with Argylls sporrans might think it looks military issue, however the Argylls had a unique sporran badge unlike their other badges.

Photos show Argylls officers wearing sporrans with tassels without badge.
