So what did/do the Rabble think of the kilts worn by the Scottish team at the opening ceremony?

I rather liked the modern styling twist on the women’s kilts and handbags.
I wasn’t a fan of the casual polo shirts at an opening ceremony but given the heat and humidity on the Gold Coast it’s perfectly understandable and sensible.

Does anyone know what the tartan was?

I like the tartan and i have no problem with the team marching in polo shirts.

I consider the venue of the outfit. These are athletes and active people. Clothes adjusted to the environment is perfectly understandable.

Personal note, I like the color combinations and designs that bring them together and in good taste.

They were a lot smarter than the English team, who looked like they were en route to the Costa del Sol for their holidays, and quieter than the Scottish tartan in the Glasgow games four years ago.

Excellent tartan and all the team looked very smart at the parade. Great to see Scotland coming first at something.

Going buy a kilt in this tartan

I thought they looked excellent although I'm not a fan of the beltless look the tp of the kilt looks unfinished without a belt. I thought the ladies looked well turned out too but I don't se why they didn't have the same purse as the men.

BTB I used the word 'purse' deliberately. 'Purses highland' is how the army refers to this kind of sporran.

As a little aside my sporran is an ex commonwealth games item, a gift from one of my friends who competed for Scotland.
