Just caught the trailer for the tv show "Bridezillas" on the the Comcast cable ondemand menu. It shows a bride ripping her groom because the kilt (looks like a Black Watch) he has rented does go with the bridesmaids dresses like the one she chose. I have no intention of watching this show. I have successfully married off three daughters with no "bridezilla" among them, so I see no reason to learn about such problems. Just thought I'd mention the appearance of a kilt on the show.

Like you, I am not interested in watching the show. However, it's nice to know a kilted wedding has made it to television.

That show is awful! I am lucky to have a son and I hope he does not marry a woman like those on that show.

My daughter will be 2 in February. I pray she is not a Bridezilla. She's already a little monster. :)

I saw that, :roll: Weddings sure make people crazy!

A significant portion of my piping income derives from weddings.

While most brides & MOB's are absolutely delightlful to work with - it's that tiny fraction that I can never forget.

And it's not solely the females' role to act shamelessly. The bridegroom & groomsmen can be disgusting swine as well. Nowadays, neither the best man, nor his subordinate groomsmen seem to have the slightest inkling what his role should be.

Among the worst I experienced was having a very last moment wedding cancellation. At the rehearsal dinner the night before, the bride & bridegroom got into a disagreement. The bridegroom struck her in the face with his fist, knocking her over a table.

Her father canceled the wedding and saw to it he was charged with assault.

All in all I'd say she dodged the bullet on that one!
Over the years I've seen 4 or 5 fistfights at weddings or receptions, mostly among drunk guests. but there was one between the bride and grooms' fathers during the wedding, and a couple between brides and various other female guests! Nothing like a new bride, still in her full-on fluffy white dress, trading blows and rolling around on the barroom floor with one of the bridesmaids, and then the groom and the bridesmaids' boyfriend tie into it too! Happy wedding night kids!

I have two sons and plan to be heavily sedated for the week prior to and week after their weddings.

I will become comfortably numb.

And one of the better & memorable weddings for me was when the bride's mom slipped her room key into my recompense envelope. Actually it was one of those credit card-like pass keys. Still have it - somewhere.

And 'no', I didn't go. My wife expected me home at a reasonable hour.

I was shooting a wedding once (and the last time I hope) where it was a second wedding for both, and at a quarter till midnight I asked when they planned on throwing the bouquet, and it took them another half hour to pull the people together to do that. That was a loooonnnggg night.
