Washing your Kilt??
I know this is probably on here somewhere and I have seen some answers to other questions but I just wanted to double check first before I proceeded with anything.
It is okay to wash (in the machine) the SWK economy kilt right? Then hang it dry or can it be dried as well? I know it is preferred to have them dry cleaned anyway but barring that luxury is this the accepted way?? I appreciate the help.

Chris,
this is from the SWK website:
Our Economy and Standard kilts are made from acrylic fabric.
Wool is simply not a viable option for the price we offer these kilts for, and the cotton/poly blends often used on kilts in this price range do not hold pleats nearly as well. We have had very good results with our fabric choice, it feels like wool, without the cost! They are machine-washable (gentle cycle only), hang dry, touch up with a warm iron if needed. Dry clean for best results.
Our Heavyweight Kilts are 100% Wool (dry-clean only)

I wash my SWK economy in the washing machine and hang it dry. Usually, I don't even have to iron it.

I will press the kilt with a tea towel between the iron and the kilt. Economy or wool..

While we are on this topic, I am getting my first tartan kilt, from USA Kilts, and I was wondering the same thing. I am so used to my Utilikilts, but now will have a casual kilt, which should arrive this week!!!

For a USAK Poly Viscose kilt (or most ANY other brand PV kilt for that matter)... machine wash cold, with NO FABRIC SOFTENER and hang dry.
