Do you still offer Ferguson Britt sporrans in fur?
Got a little flush and went shopping and the bobcat etc was gone. Tried another vendor and they say they are closing out FB and only had one leather one left.
Is something happening? Did I miss something?
Thanks

Hmm. The introduction on the FB page (http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/fb_sporrans.html) says,
These sporrans are each custom made, so please allow extra time for delivery. Any style of sporran can be made from a variety of shades of brown and black leathers, or with any legally obtainable fur.

Re: Do you still offer Ferguson Britt sporrans in fur?
There should be a few fur FBs in stock right now, if memory serves.
At least one in Dark brown beaver, I believe, though I don't think there are any bobcat ready made right now... might be a mink up there too, but I'm really not sure on that.
If you'll be willing to wait a bit, I'm sure Lamar would be happy to make a 'cat sporran for you, though.
...and if you were interested, Matt might take a photo of the sporrans currently ready to ship. Possibly.
But yes, I can tell you without any doubt that Ferguson Britt is still making sporrans, both in all leather and fur, as usual.

I have a Glengyle model in natural/undyed beaver. Love it!

Thanks - own two flat caps myself - and wear them with kilts. That is a sharp looking beaver sporran. Guess we'll see what's out there eventually.

Re: Do you still offer Ferguson Britt sporrans in fur?
Ron,
Yes, we are still carrying FB sporrans. Yes, they are available in fur.
I am a little confused and concerned by your statement that you contacted "another vendor" who said they were "closing out" the FB sporrans, as the Scottish Tartans Museum is the exclusive retail outlet for Ferguson Britt sporrans -- the maker does not sell to anyone else. So if you see another vendor claiming to have FB sporrans, something is amiss there!
From our main gift shop site, go in the menu under "Men's Highland Dress," then "Sporrans," then "Ferguson Britt." Here is a direct link:
http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/fb_sporrans.html
From that page you'll see each style of sporran, most (but not all) of which are available in fur. Just click on any style to be taken to that order page. The first page you come to will be for that style in plain leather. Assuming that style is also available in fur, there will be a link at the top of the page, just above the item description, that says, "click here for this model in fur." Click there to be taken to the fur order page.
For example, here is the popular Glengyle style in fur:
http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/glen_gyle.html
The photos you will see with be representative, but we simply do not have photos of every style of sporran made with every possible fur option. But any style can be ordered in any of the listed furs, including bobcat.
I am waiting right now for Ferguson Britt to send us images of each of the available furs so that we can have a "swatch" gallery as we do for the leather colors. Hopefully that will come soon.
These sporrans are generally made to order (right now there is not a long wait). We do, as Ryan said, have some in stock for immediate shipment, including a few fur varieties. If you want to know just what is in stock at any given time, it's best to call the gift shop toll free at 866-898-1192 or just shoot us an email at tartans@scottishtartans.org.
Thanks!
