I was lucky enough to travel from Scotland and visit California, on a couple of occasions I visited Balboa park and took my pipes and 8yard house of Edgar Black stuart. and played at the house of Scotland, I was invited to play back the week later and play for the President of the House of Scotland and vice chiefton of the Cali Highland games Mr.Graham McGruer, and what a gentleman he was as well he invited me round to his house for dinner but unfortunatly i had a prior engagement.

The califorian hospitality was fantastic I visted a few Irish bars in the San Diego area and I wore the kilt on a regular basis. I was mobbed by a group of women on one occasionand also played at a local school for the youngsters

Ive never met more polite people , even the police officers, despite being armed , some of the mexican folk went nuts for the bagpipes and cooked me a huge barbaque and got me liquored up on tequila
