    Help finding Czech National Tartan

I could really do with some help for my wedding!
(note to moderators: I have checked the forum rules on advertised/suppliers no official advertisers supply this tartan- especially considering the tiny quantity required! So would not detract from those suppliers)

I am in need of a either
    a) cravat / neck tie in Czech national tartan
    b) small amount of Czech national tartan material to make my own

I am willing to buy from international websites.

I have tried searching but have not been able to find a supplier- not even locally in Scotland!

Please help if anyone knows where to obtain either ties or material in czech national design.

    Thanks

The STA records state that it was woven by Marton Mills. They might be worth a try - http://www.martonmills.co.uk/

Have you contacted the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Edinburgh? They are the office which approved this Tartan to carry the Country name.

You may also want to attempt to contact the Friends of Scotland CZ as they designed it.

That would be my first suggestion too. One of the guys from that group came onto XMTS shortly a couple years ago to say "hello" after I translated one of his articles from Czech into English, but I don't think he stayed around.

Their contact info is: kilt@seznam.cz or 00420-608-077 322
Website: http://www.skotsko.net (All in Czech though)

I see that the copyright to this tartan belongs to Vaclav Rout, who was chairman of the Friends of Scotland CZ, when this tartan was recorded in 2008. If you could get his permission, I could have a 4 yd, 30" wide length woven for you. That's about as small a minimum run as you will find.

Wow, Matt. 4 yds x 30" wide. That would make SOME tie!

Kvasinka, a member here posted in October a DIY kilt in Czech National. He my have enough left to make a tie from. You may wish to contact him.
Just use XMarks search for Czech National Tartan and his post is about the fourth one down. Good Luck!

    Try:

    http://www.burnsnightprague.com/

The Friends of Scotland CZ's Burns Supper. Our society has sent Burns Night greetings to them in the past. Vaclav Rout is the Chairman.

Re: Help finding Czech National Tartan

In case it is of help to someone searching in the future I have contacted Vaclav Rout via skotskehry.cz / caledonia.webpark.cz and he can supply the tartan.

So think I shall go with that, although shall have to change from a neck tie I think- it might be a wee bit too heavy weight I think!

    Thank you everyone
