Thoughts on hose color etc.

Ive always wondered why white hose was sort of a no no in the kilt world. Would someone be so kind to clear that up for me?

It's not that they are per-se a no go, it's that white hose are ALL you see from rental houses. PC's during the day or evening with ghillie brogues and white hose is the standard issue rental outfit. This has given them a bad name in some corners.

There are many colours of hose that go with nearly any tartan which are much more flattering (lovat blue, for example).

There ARE some off-white hose which are quite splendid. Several members here have nicely knit, very chunky hose in off white done in an Aran Sweater-style.
