My husband and I attended an antique show (I've posted about it before -- it occurs twice a year). Last time, I wore a bustle gown, and he wore his kilt. We just weren't in the mood to dress up this time as I was meeting up with only one friend for some shopping (much easier to dig through boxes under tables looking for stuff to buy if you're more comfortable).

As we started browsing one of the booths, an older gentleman (he spoke so softly, but I think his accent was English) approached my husband and said "No uniform this time?"

Christopher stopped, confused for a moment, then realized they had chatted at the last show when Christopher wore his kilt! He was wondering where the kilt was this time! Heheheh. (my husband really stands out and is unforgettable)

No one recognized me (I think the gown was a little over the top for anyone to pay attention to me), but my friend ended up wearing a Regency gown because she had a few of the sellers asking her why she hadn't dressed up the day before (they were almost disappointed). She's been going to the show longer than I have though. It's just funny when people look forward to seeing you do something a little extra special
