I have an ex hire jacket, and I want to get it tailored as I find it a bit boxy. What about the sleeves though? Should I have them shortened slightly like I would with a suit, to show a bit of cuff? or are all the pictures right and you should not see sleeve? Or is this one of those preference things?

Also, if I pick up a vest at a mens wear shop, will it be to long, or is the average vest length about right? I realize I will have to be careful to match the fabrics as close a possible.
