Jacobites: Scots-Irish Club of Lakeland, Fl.
"History of Halloween Meeting"
Oct. 28, 2008
We had a fun time at this meeting, and no one was wearing a kilt at this gathering except for:
MacSkully the Jacobite!!! :-)
Some of us wore costumes and others just dressed warm, because it was very cool for an October evening in Fl. We had some new folks and some brought their kids which I feel was great being a Halloween oriented meeting. Some of the meeting was outdoors ... there was a fire pit, canopy tent, decorations (spooky and Autumn themed), grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, etc..
The lesson was on the History of Halloween, which was given by our Secretary Sheila Smith (x marks very own Scottish Mommy). I read some passages out of "Ghostly Scotland" after the lesson to help set the mood. All in all it was a success and we are already scheming a bigger "Halloween Function" next year!
Some of our goodies!
