Museums with good collections of Highland attire?
Apologies if this information already exists on the site, I have had a rummage but couldnt find a specific thread about it.
I wondered if anyone could recommend any museums that have particularly good examples of early (the older the better for my interests) items related to Highland attire.
Whilst kilts and plaids are of course interesting, my personal interests are in accessories particularly bonnets and hose. I'm particularly interested in the overlaps between military and civilian stylings and how they change at different dates and in different regions.
I'll add some of my existing list to this thread in a bit when I dig my notes out, but it might build into a useful list if we all add good examples worth visiting when on our various travels
