Without a doubt the two that are a 'must' are the West Highland Museum at Fort William, and the Royal Scottish Museum which is spread over several sites in Edinburgh. Unfortunately the latter has much more than it can show but if you can get into their store - wow!

yes indeed, I didnt have time on my last trip to Edinburgh to go behind the scenes to do some research, but thats on the cards for my next trip, they do have some excellent bonnets
