    I seem to recall discussion of part of the top half of the belted plaid being fashioned into a pouch under one arm, for what it's worth. I have no idea if this was done by the Highlanders who wore the belted plaid, or just something that can be done.
    I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
