I'm pretty sure it is the Gordon Tartan. Though they wear the insignia of the Calgary Highlanders (shoulder flashes and cap badges).

Even though the Calgary Highlanders pipes and drums only wore the Gordon and the Troops wore the Government Tartan "Black Watch". But hey, its the movies. And at least one or two arent even wearing sporrans.

Thank you Thor I appreciate the info. I was surprised they weren't wearing the blackwatch. I was extremely happy to see the 1 Special Service Force got their own tartan recently.

If I remember correctly, the pipe band in the movie was the Salt Lake Scots.

You're absolutely right cajunscot. But they were wearing the Royal Stewart I think, I cant be certain on that one for sure. I remember it being a predominately Red ish kilt for the band at the beginning.

    Pipe band in "Devil's Brigade"

Correct! The pipe band was the Salt Lake Scots (I use to pipe with them), and the movie filmed at Camp Williams, Utah National Guard army post located between Salt Lake City and Provo. As for the tartan, I don't know.
