    That is gorgeous! How did you bring accentuate the design? Did you stain it with something or perhaps singe it?

    My first reaction was, "a pie like Grandma used to make!" She had hardwood pie-jaggers, tools for making fancy pie crusts. She would press the jagger into the top crust before laying it on the pie, then brush the design with a little cream so it would bake up looking burnished, like this.
