    We nowadays forget how common ankle boots were with Highland Dress in the old days:

    Very good examples. I saw a lot of old lads wearing ankle brogues with their formal attire growing it. It's what they'd done growing up and in the military.
    I plan to get a properly fitter pair for myself at some point which I will have resoled and have into my old age.
