Re: My new official kilt shoe
I do like the 19th-century/Victorian era look of Highland attire, but not the ankle-boot style brogues. Also, not all of the Highlanders in MacLeay's watercolour portraits are wearing such shoes, and I should also mention that Amelia Murray MacGregor - one of the contributing 'authors' of MacLeay's, Highlanders of Scotland series, discussed such boots on one of the Highland sitters, calling them "a very unusual style, etc, etc." Just a wee bit of interesting information.
Personally, I want to show off my different styles and colours of kilt hose, not attempt to hide them with the addition of an ankle boot, or any other type of 'boot' for that matter.
Friendly banter here, mates...agree to disagree...
Cheers!
