Third time's a charm. My first one that my grandpa brought from Ireland was when I was like 3 years old so of course I lost that one after probably 4 minutes of holding it. My second one I had a few years ago but it fell off my finger into the grass where it was never to be found again. My third is safely on my finger now and hopefully never falls off.

If you ever start looking I have my claddagh from Fallers on Williamsgate in Galway (Claddagh is now part of the city of Galway)http://www.fallers.com/ (they also have a toll free number from the US) and can recommend them. My wife and I also ordered our wedding bands from Fallers and they have a claddagh in the band with an Irish inscription.

My wife AND my daughter both have one. It was not our wedding ring, but my wife still has it. My daughter is "too cool" these days and only keeps it in her room. She wears it for special occasions but "doesn't want to loose it".

I suppose the Scottish equivalent would be a luckenbooth - the same heart and crown symbols but a brooch rather than a ring. If you pin it to a baby's shawl it will ward off the fairies, so they say!
