Re: Question about the fingerless gloves

I never could understand the concept. Granted, I've never tried them, but when I wear regular gloves, it's my fingertips that get cold first. So I've always thought that people who wear them are more concerned about looks than they are about the weather. That or they're joining the Fagin Academy for homeless boys. But after reading the above, I am reviewing the situation.
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

The concept is straightforward: in a fingerless glove, your homeothermic countercurrent blood vascular system keeps your hands and fingers warm while you are using your fingertips.

If one were not using their fingertips, then a mitten would keep one's fingers even warmer.

When either hunting, fishing, or performing some other tasks in extreme cold, I usually have both fingerless gloves and mittens with me.
