Well I am a Canadian of many generations on my Fathers side with Scotish heritage. My Mother moved to Canada when she was in her 20's, she is Scotish but born on Africa. So I have Scotish blood in my veins but I am Canadian first. I have a few tartans to choose from clan wise, but I also wear what I want if I like it. I think the Clans won't get to pissed off with me because I only pay them respect when wearing their tartan.
I am along the lines of every Man is intitled to be Kilted and therefore he should be. If you are worried about what tartan you are to wear then go for a plan coloured Kilt or some tartan which everyone can wear, there are plent of those around.
Bottom line is Enjoy your Kilt and wear it with Pride, let no one tell you other wise.
