    Maple Leaf, First Week

A week ago today my Maple Leaf kilt arrived from Rocky at USA Kilts, and I wore it that evening at the Saint Andrew's Society monthly meeting. No pic from the meeting (though I was witnessed by WalkerK); but I took this shot in a mirror (which is why the sgian makes me seem left-handed) when I got home:

Yesterday I went for a stroll, temps in the mid-80s (F) in a county park in Cupertino:

I have to say that I really like this kilt!

A fine looking kilt indeed! The colours really suit you lad, and I like the combo with the gold hose. Pretty sharp!

Very nice Dale, that is certainly a good looker. It's one of those tartans I keep toying with, but just can't get the checkbook out...yet.

    Re: Maple Leaf, First Week

Saturday I was shopping at a Trader Joe's wearing this kilt with a short-sleeved olive green hemp shirt and the mustard Lewis hose. Out of the corner of my eye, I watched a young female employee talking excitedly with a female co-worker, both of them sneaking glances my way. Finally the girl walked over to me with a big smile on her face, and I prepared to address her questions about the kilt.

She never even mentioned the kilt. She was totally blown away by the hose and wanted to know where I got them.

Looking good Dale. I really need to get a pair of mustard hose to go with my Maple Leaf.

    That is a spectacular kilt!
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

    Re: Maple Leaf, First Week

Every time I see a kilt in this tartan it makes me want one more and more. Sadly, at the moment it is buried far down on the want list, and even farther down on the have a chance of paying for right now list. I'll second (or maybe by this time it may be 5th) that I think those hose are certainly worthy of stealing a little attention away from the kilt.

LOL, of course! What else would she have been wondering?

Looking good as usual Sensei Seago. Do you feel a bit Canadian when you wear the Maple Leaf tartan?
