To give the idea a go for relatively little money, go to www.hotpipes.com and look at the Kitchen Pipes.

If it's a go, there are all sorts of options, from the Kitchen Pipes to Gibson Fireside Pipes and 3/4 pipes from a couple makers. All require less air than the GHB.

Great piper, easily one of my favorites. Inspires me to keep progressing no matter which way it goes.

I have a set of Ian Kinnear poly smallpipes. Despite owning them for a year, I have yet to find the time to get fully onto them,

but the fingering is the same. I can play them in the house too, which is a huge bonus.

BTW, reel pipes have been around a long time before Fred Morrison. MacDougall of Aberfeldy were advertising "reel pipes" in the mid 1800's.
