Then I suppose you shouldn't have made this post, quoted in its entirety, in which you said NOTHING about Highland Attire AT ALL:

You said you couldn't imagine it and I made it so you don't have to.

I also take exception to your claim that it depends how much money you have and whether or not you have anything to prove, that is not the point at all. I am far from rich, the outfits pictured took years to save for. It's about wearing the appropriate outfit and how to do so with one kilt.

How long it took you to save up for your kit has nothing to do with my statement on financial wherewithal. These gents have all shown up for a black tie affair (albeit in the country) in jeans, barefoot, sandals, and Wellies. Would they wear this to the opera or to a do in the big city? Doubtful. But does that mean they are doing it wrong here? Not by any stretch of the imagination. There is a time and a place for everything.
