Those shoes look nice. I also like your Braemar cuff jacket, and four button waistcoat! I like that style much better than the typical Prince Charlie.

Yes, those two are the classic Doc Martens. I've been a long time fan of the brand and am very pleased to see them make something with a more refined profile.

Thank you, sir! The Braemar cuff jacket and four button waistcoat are part of my search for a classic style that avoids the cookie-cutter look.

Doc's are awesome ,You can not go wrong wearing Doc's.

I can remeber a time when the doc's were Banned in My High School and we could not wear them .

The school broad said they were Skin Head boots and we could not wear them. I bought a pair recently and wear them every day now.

Quite the opposite in one HS here...they mandated that all students wear Hush Puppies because they didn't scuff the floors. Okay...this WAS in the not-so-swingin' sixties...but wow!

East Pualding High school in Dallas Georgia

it was named number 5 in the county for amount of Skin Heads.

But now it is like a Day care ,I guess things change .

I can remeber some of them wore Kilts .

But back then I did not know I was Scottish , But I wanted a pair of Doc's

but could not afford them then. I got them on my feet right now

I have to wear steel toes at work and I work in the office and found some low top steel toe Doc's work great

I like the new shoes CMcG. Not so much for dressier occasions but definately for games or out on the street wear. I have to agree that Doc's are a very comfy shoe/boot and would surely be of a benefit when standing or walking around at the Highland games all day.

    Re: Doc Martens "Bennett"

I'm gonna guess Thomas meant "School Board" and not "School Broad"...

I'm wearing a pair of 8-eyed "For Life" Docs right now, the greasy brown is soft and supple, clothlike, like a pair of leather socks. I've worn Docs for a little over half of my life... they are a fantastic shoe... although in the late 90's - early 00's the quality dropped. Personally I've been seeing that quality improve subtantially, back to the old docs I knew and loved.

My next shoe will be the Doc Martin Fabrizo - it's a classic wingtip but with a beefier "country" sole. I don't see them on their site anymore but I still see them around some of the shoe sites.
