    Re: kilt/fly plaid tartans?

    All,

Thanks for the replies. I do believe the weights are different, so that may account for the variation. I suspect that the two will look good to the eye; I doubt anyone will notice.

Do you think it'll look OK with formal wear?

And...as far as "eclectic and casual," that ain't the half of it!

I would think it would be fine for formal wear, but when in doubt ask a woman in your life. And most don't wear fly plaids more than a couple of times a year if that anyway.

No fears. I have proper attire for formal wear. The Ancient Mariners are a "tongue-in-cheek" kind of a group. The kilted drum major is an old tradition.

    Re: kilt/fly plaid tartans? (photo-check)

    Greetings,

Here are some pictures of the fly plaid worn with the kilt (no hose, sorry!)

Whattya think? Is the sett-size difference too great?

Also, I notice through looking at the pictures that the fly plaid colors look more vivid than the kilt. Could this be because the kilt is a few years old?

    Thank you,
    Richard

I don't see any problem with the two sett sizes worn together.

You do need some trombones in that band of yours, though. Trombones make everything better.
