I have hike several times in my Mountain Hardwear ElKommando Mountain Kilt. It works really well and is lighter and cooler than my Utilikilt. It dries very fast if you are someone who sweats a lot like I do. Unfortunately, the sizes are limited, it can be hard to find and only comes in one color.

I have not seen a ElKommando kilt so take this with a grain of salt. I would believe that a X-Kilt in a polyester blend would meet specs similar to the ElKommando. Light weight, drys quickly and comfortable. One of the USAKilts casuals would be excellent. Of a trip to one of the local fabric stores to look at the selection of fabrics and you are off to a good start. Just a little sewing experience or a friend with a little sewing experience is all that is needed.
