    it was a great learning experience, and a lot of fun. I really hope there are more kilt kamps (and that I can afford to attend - i can never learn enough about kiltmaking)

    - just one correction: it is "purling" a fringe, and this is a link to the tool:

    I timed Jerry doing this on the ferry and it takes about 2 min to do each pearl. I can do it by hand in half that time. This tool is very good if you have arthritis though.

    Sunday night we sat up late to see Curiosity land on Mars and it was an exciting EDL. I found this animation about the landing AND how some of the instrumentation works. What an amazing pice of equipment.

    Thanks for posting the photos. It looks like another great kilt kamp. There were some great looking tartans present, and some wonderful looking kilts built. I hope to one day be able to attend, now if work, kids, scouts, and life would just cooperate with those plans!
