If you do a Search you will find a military box pleated kilt in this tartan made by John Hart (Keltoi) it has been several months but I do remember the posting, there were pics included.

I've made plenty of kilts from Lochcarron's 16 oz Black Watch weathered. All I could find uploaded in terms of photos was this detail pic of a four yard box pleated kilt.

You'll probably get more favourable comments about a muted tartan or people asking about it than any other kilt you have. That has been my experience with my Weathered Gordon, which is very similar to Black Watch.

I much prefer the weathered Black Watch to the "normal" colours. A great choice if you go with it.

My experience [along with my first name ] coincides with John's. I have a Douglas Repro (New House Highland) and a MacKellar Weathered (Burnett's & Struth). I get more compliments/questions/comments while wearing these kilts than all my other kilts combined.

Maybe it's because I wear them both at the same time.

PS: Those are some handsome kilts and tartans, gentlemen.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I love the BW weathered tartan. That's on my "to do" list.

    Wow!! Thank you, EVERYONE!!

Guys, your kilts all look outstanding!
Rocky and Matt, thank you for sharing.

I am still mulling over tartans but this one is really jumping out at me. Not flashy but kind of quiet and strong. I really dig all of the photos that have been shared. Very impressive!

    Thank you, again!!

    :-D

I have a USAK ancient Campbell. The "weathered" Campbell or BW was added to my short list after I saw it on this site. May have been englishblokes pics herehttp://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...ilt-bob-72333/.
