About the first part, I think there must be something wrong with the scotweb site because with Kilt outfits the Balmoral would be cheaper than the Dalgliesh.
Second part, I thought you bought the last kilt as a "design your own" in 15oz Dalgliesh instead of the 13oz on the website. I was wondering about that price difference.
Sorry if I'm confusing, english is a second language.
Anyway thank you for the answer, if I create my own tartan Dalgliesh will surely get the order

You are correct. In total, I ordered three of the hand-sewn kilts. The first two were in existing, registered designs. The third is in a tartan of my own design. But your original question was with regard to the difference in price between the Balmoral, and the hand-sewn. Only Nick can answer that.

Regarding the price difference you've identified, I'm not sure I can explain that anomoly off the top of my head. But I'll certainly look into it (or ask one of the team to) as soon as we get the chance. My immediate hunch is that it may be related to the fact, that we only really identified a couple of weeks ago, that we reckon we lose a substantial sum of money on every hand-sewn kilt that D.C. Dalgliesh produces!
This may seem an odd admission, a couple of years after we stepped in to rescue the business from closure. But unless you've been involved in such a situation yourself, you will find it hard to appreciate the sheer amount of work involved in stepping into running someone else's business - let alone one as traditionally operated as this one, much of it in the owner's head. With very little in terms of business systems to go on, we've had to start at first principles, and reinvent the company's operations from the ground up (without wishing to change anything that would affect the product's quality).
The good news is that we've made tremendous strides now in this regard, so much so that we're currently working on a full scale relaunch later this year, once we have the systems in place to follow through on our ambitions. But this is also keeping us tremendously busy... so busy, indeed, that temporarily I'm willing to continue losing money on every kilt produced on the premises, rather than have to commit time right now to addressing that issue when there are many other things I need to be working on that will contribute more to the big picture we're working towards. We'll look at that issue properly, as soon as we get the chance.
But meanwhile, perhaps the message to take from this is... grab a bargain while you can!

Thank you for the answer.
Obviously I'm sorry to hear that you lose money on the D.C. Dalgliesh kilt.
Anyway I'm impressed that under these circumstances you actually find time to write on this forum.
Hat off to you Sir.
