This is one of my personal favorites. It is the result of an experimental mixing of historical and traditional pieces. I normally wear the great kilt a bit longer with more of the bulk to the back which results in a flatter front, but it was put on while standing. Note that there is no sporran whereas I use the folds of the kilt as pockets.

As a casual outfit, I quite like it.

So far, it seems the more informal tshirt and kilt combo is best, although not got any decent pics of me in my nice traditional Kilt Jacket I got made via Jake's (green scots mist tweed I think it's called...)

Why is it, whenever I get dolled up the people who are always click-click-click-in-your-face are never to be seen? And then on other occasions when you look less than great, then they turn up with cameras in tow? Hmmph. Anyway - posted this before, shades and top hat optional ;-)

Also mentioned elsewhere about leather...leather vest, works really well. Someone here posted a pic of them in what seemed to be a leather kilt jacket...biker jackets and kilts, that's a really good idea...always wanted a leather jacket ;-)

Thanks. It is defiantly casual. I like to go walking in it. It's nice to know I have something to wear like a cloak if a sudden rain turns up.
Oh and Fingertrouble, I like the hat. I used to have one just about identical to it when I did Victorian reenactment more frequently than I do now.

Wow! That is very sharp. Where can I get myself on of those?

There are numerous places. GT, for example. Just google pinstripe kilt, you'd probably find somewhere cheaper than GT. I think GT is an excellent tailors, but fairly expensive. I don't care for these pinstripe kilt suits, myself, but to each their own.

My go to "outfit" for lack of a better word. Is something along the lines of tshirt any of my kilts (mood dependant) boots and scrunched down hose. I used to wear this with my leather jacket until I set fire to it (long story!) but now it's just my other one, I haven't been able to find a replacement jacket I like yet.
Balmoral bonnet is also mood dependant, I tend to have fairly short hair so if it's sunny I like to have a hat on.

I do like being able to dress up but I never seem to find myself having an excuse to wear a jacket as much as I'd like to unfortunately.

No photos at the moment as I'm on my phone.
