Well, it sounds (from your group's website) as if your reenactments are done in good humor for the joy of those in attendance, rather than in an effort to achieve absolute historical accuracy, so it's not an issue that kilts weren't worn until well after the period of heavily armored knights.
As a former SCA member (back when I was younger, thinner, and thought that getting bashed in the head with a rattan waster was fun), I applaud your work.
