After days of those clear blue skies only Autumn can do really brilliantly, this morning marked the equinox with a thick fog worthy of Jack the Ripper.
Still a spot of melodrama in the weather is nothing to stop one venturing out if well wrapped up.
Note to self - no back alleyways.....

Thick fog? Surely you mean "mist and mellow fruitfulness"!
Actually, Autumn, with the mists and later, the sharp crisp mornings are some of the things I miss among the most, since we moved down here from the English Midlands.

Remember this is fall by the Roman calendar. I don't live in Rome and it looks like neither do you. In ancient northern Europe, I understand, some folks only recognized two seasons: Winter and Summer. Still I'm liking fall more and more despite being more difficult to convince folks I am comfortable in a kilt after the temperature dips.
Excellent photo in the original post and thank you.

The weather is certainly dreary here - and the leaves are changing colour, there are a few trees with amazingly red or golden leaves, which doesn't happen very often.
The horse chestnuts, though, are all brown and tattered which is not normal.
Mellow fruitfulness seems rather absent from the brambles - they were bitter right up to the point of dropping off or going mouldy, which again is not usual.
At least the apples seem to be ripening up well, and there's a lot of them again this year. I think I might get a good brewing year.

I would welcome some dreary weather! I had to spend all day mucking about in a storage shed at work, hot dirty labour as the sun was blazing and it was in the 80s.
In other words, no fall yet! Seems like, most years, the weather starts cooling off around Halloween, Equinox or no.

OCR, maybe this will help cool you off a little.
Here's how it looked for us this morning.

Today the sun came out - so whilst it was not raining I went out and picked the first lot of apples.
Whilst the weather can't know the date it was strange that on the equinox it threw a tantrum and we have had heavy mist, heavy rain, heavy cloud and not a little wind ever since.
After all that the people around here are emerging blinking into the light of a pleasant Autumn afternoon looking slightly shocked.
