There are not many days, I can remember when I don’t want to be kilted. But yesterday, Friday was one of them. I woke up early and felt miserable from the lack of sleep and fighting off a cold. Nevertheless it was kilted Friday and I strapped on my B&S casual in Malcolm modern tartan. I felt so much better doing so!

At work a couple moving in to the community I manage asked if there was anything special today for me to be kilted. Aye, I replied, I do a take-off from casual Friday, and do Kilted Friday. That brought a smile and sharing of their Scottish ancestry. Later as I was out and about and walking in to a Post Office, a lady who was coming out said to me, how refreshing to see a man kilted.

So if you were out and about Friday doing what you normally do give this post an Aye!

I'm a firm believer that when wearing a kilt "out and about" your (at least) adding to the diversity of humanity, and while it's certainly a demonstration that your an individual, it's also a visual statement that individuality is still alive.......Bravo to you, and your "kilted Friday" adventure this week.

I had a similar experience last weekend.

    Salut Mael,

For me it's my Cunningham Hunting Ancient Kilt by Paul Henry.

I find that I reach for this one in the wardrobe more often than any other.

September of last year was the first time I wore my kilt in public besides renn faires. I have gotten good responses from the hotels we stayed at when I was kilted. My mother was visiting and we took her to the Arizpna Mills Mall to shop. Sorry not a friday but a wesnessday. I wore my kilt, with a wolf fur sporan a dress shirt and hikers. While the laddies were shopping in a womans store my wife had me hold on to some of her intended purchases. One of the sales girls came up behind me and said ma'am we have changing rooms you could try those on if you would like to. I turned around and politely said no thank you these are for my wife. Instantly she got a confused-surprised look on her face and said omg it's a man. My reply was yes it is. After the ladies made their purchases and we were leaving I over heard the ladies behind the counter commenting on what I was wearing and giggling about it. We still have a good laugh about it, and i hope I made those young ladies day.

Ok, technically it's not "the" Friday in a week, but it's "my" Friday that falls on Sunday. And, this week, it was a special Friday ( Sunday ) for me, as it was my Friday, Mothers Day and My Birthday - All wrapped into one day! Because I had to work on my Birthday, I decided to go Kilted! So, because of the "no photo, it didn't happen" theme that the Rabble likes to quote.....here ya go......

    Hawk

(note here - it "is" a working warehouse so I dressed accordingly.... )
Shawnee / Anishinabe and Clan Colquhoun

Well, happy belated "Friday", Mother's Day, and Birthday to you. But, you don't look all that happy about it. Nice duds.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

The TGIF in Morganton was kilted with fans of the band. The band put on a "really good show" leaving their fans with the hope that would be back when Shawn was better.. A few photos:
