Scored a P/C jacket and vest at the thrift store!

I regularly check our Value Village for kilts and accessories, and always check the jackets section for Harris Tweeds. Went in today and what first catches my eye in the rack of jackets is a braided epaulet (No! It can't be!) And yes, it is a Prince Charlie with square chrome buttons. No wear, no damage, and unbelievably, it fits! (No provenance either, as all it has is a "PURE NEW WOOL dry clean only" label.)

I hung onto it, and went to look around the store some more, but only got about 20 paces before I stopped dead and thought, "Don't these usually come with a vest?", turned around and scooted back to the vest section (where a couple were trying on black vests "aaarrgh!" but they finished without taking one) and the third black vest I looked at had lapels and square buttons! Whee, a matched set!

They were priced separately, the jacket at $29.99 and the vest at $12.99.
So I had to pay........ $30 total because we had a 30%-Off coupon, and today the last day we could use it! <cackles>

It is probably made in Asia, but looks pretty good for all that I'll wear it. I threw on an old shirt (the bow-tie is the only thing holding the collar closed, but a beard hides a multitude...)

    Fun to watch....

I find it endlessly entertaining to watch My Laird plowing through the clothing racks at V.V. and find something special. Our younger son just rolls his eyes and tells me "at least he isn't into ladies' nighties." LOL

It may be made in Asia, but it looks splendid! Congratulations. Great score. Thanks for sharing your good fortune with us. Now, we're all jealous.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Great find- and great fit. You'd be hard pressed to find a better fit in a new off-the-rack PC.

Good score ( and now I have a suspect, in mind, for not finding much in the way of HarrisTweed jackets, at the Langley store )
