It is actually fortunate that you prefer To The Stripe. The MacKenzie (Seaforth) Tartan is Black Watch with a Red and White overcheck. The Black Watch Tartan and its derivatives are huge Sett Tartans. Each pleat eats up a huge amount of fabric, and I ordered exactly 4 yards of double-width fabric based on your hip circumference.
I started laying out your kilt this afternoon and I am going to have just enough fabric to make this kilt. You will get back the short, narrow piece left over from the center of the fabric after I make your waistband, beltloops and buckle tabs.
But I hope you were not planning of making matching Tartan flashes from any left over fabric.
