    Happy Scotland

I may be in trouble here because this is not about the kilt but some members may be interested!

An interesting article indeed. The numbers for working aged people will always seem smaller in the "happiness measurement department". I was proud to see the numbers on folks my age and older equaled those below 19.
For once there is something that is not wasted on just the young.

Apparently Scots are "agreeable" which may surprise some on here!

The basic message seems to be that people in areas with less population density are happier, which isn't surprising.

I suppose that similar surveys have been done in other places, and I would expect similar results.

I just did some Googling and am getting various answers, some polls saying in the USA suburbanites are happier than either rural or urban folk.

Then there's this map... I love maps! Note New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and "the rust belt" are the unhappiest

    EDIT: Here's Britain

I thought I'd be happy living in Cornwall... guess so!

OC's map of the USA indicates that every state capital's (except South Dakota) population is less than happy. That doesn't speak well of politicians or governmental congested areas.
So, what's up South Dakota? I get why my adopted home state is full of glee, there are lots of Scottish ancestors here.

Good eye there, I hadn't noticed that. But sure 'nuff the Charleston area of West Virginia is the least happy in that state.

I can't quite make out what's happening in the narrow strip poking up between Ohio and Pennsylvania.

In the British maps one might conclude that the "Celts" (Cornish, Welsh, Scots) are happier than the English... a gross generalization and oversimplification I realize, but maybe kilts=happiness!
