How surprised I was when a top hat was offered in the sale. I imagined this photo,
however, a balmoral is shown.

Thanks guys! It's a nice find, but I'm sure the bidding will get out over my head eventually...
I am just excited that I actually recognized a tartan - osmosis I guess

I didn't scroll through the pictures, and was wondering about the Top Hat! Good catch!

well at 32 waist and 5 foot 5 height I'm interested.
However size 10 in the MOD charts normally equates to 5 foot 10 or thereabouts. I wonder if he'll reply to the question about the drop.
Just noticed the drop is 24 inches. So unless you're my size.......

Is the "drop" 24 or the overall (does the poster know the difference?). As mentioned earlier, old MOD kilts are highrise and you can notice the tall amount of kilt above the buckle even in the photo.

I Have no information other than what is on the ebay listing. It seems like this is an ideal choice for my size (and surname), but I don't suspect it will stay in my budget for long...

Not sure your budget, but MOD kilts can often be had at prices lower than the equivalent kilt in a custom order. There is a reason that my first kilt was an old surplus Cameron Highlanders kilt.

May be a silly question, that has been answered, but, without belt loops would one utilize sporran hangers from the belt in the back....for the sporran belt? I assumed the sporran belt uses the loops in back, but without loops, would it just rely on the bulk of the posterior to remain in place ?
