Kilted Friday in the Lizard. Cornwall ,UK. Wore my best seven yard thirty one pleat Anchient Makay, white shirt, tie ,green Argyll Jacket, and
    Blue/Green Lovat Hose.
Left Lizard on top deck of 0715 Hrs college bus to Penzance. 1 hr 45 min trip. distance as crow flies....22 miles.

Chatted with Lady visitor from America . Had lived in Kansas and moved south west Coast.Scottish, Irish descent. Family name Smith.
In my family Granny as a Cook. We were from north west. Sort of Pictish Scot . So we were Clansmen of Stewart Clan or Forbs or Boyd.
The lady knew her Fifteenth century navigation. We spoke of Spanish , Portugese,French and British navigators. Vis. Captain James Cook.
His son Captain John Cook drowned in Poole Harbour where Granny's family had lived as sea traders.
She spoke of Hurricane System and we discussed Sea Traders.
    The Kilt was Not mentioned.
Afternoon . Scottish country dancing in Marazion. On set of four couples. Only Two Ladies in skirts. First time I have seen lady Caller wearing
    her trousers.
Talk of three day Scottish Ciedli in Newquay. Cornwall's biggest surfing town. Home of the middle class yobbos. Must check it out.
Suprised the Ladies were wearing Trousers on such a hot Indian Summer Day.
Two males present confessed to owning Kilts, but preferred to wear their gardening clothes.
Back upto Helston on Bus .South African gent complimented me on my choice to wear the kilt an spoke highly of the efforts and
sacrifice of the of the kilted Highland Regiments to keep peace in the word.
We spoke of a Kilted Scottish Badass Commando who killed Nazis with a Long Bow.
I feel the Gentleman was a bit of local colour and bit of a Space Cadet.
A long and interesting day in the Kilt. Saw both sunrise and sunset from top deck of a thirty year old Bus whist only ten miles from my Home.
This has been described as a shanty town of wooden buildings with thatched roofs. Traditionally inhabited by pirates and smugglers.

As I was inspecting the outside of a house today, I heard "Nice kilt!" from across the street. I turned to wave and called out "Thanks....uh, you too!" I was shocked to see another kiltie. He was wearing a black utility kilt and red t-shirt with a Batman picture on it. I said it was kilt Friday and he said every day is kilt Friday because he only has one pair of pants! We had a quick chat and I told him about the forum. It was a nice day, and I wish we could've snapped a pic.

Nice post! I thought First Bus had taken all the Bristol VRs out of service by now? where I live I've travelled on an aging Abellio London Dart single decker in my Dress Gordon kilt, and had little reactions from other passengers. was on call for work, so no kilted Friday for me, sadly. Kilts and server rooms don't mix, lots of bending and picking things up or repairing them also a little chilly

thecompanyguy1300231 Have been informed Cesenatowers and his wife are into buses. think they in Scotland.
We have all the old rubbish busses down on South Cornwall routes. This year we have been issued with Re- paint blue buses.
Probably six year base overhaul complete rebuild. I am only guessing as we worked with helicopters and military vehicle fleet repair.
I would imagine First have a big workshop. somewhere. Ever seen an open plan workshop with a four acre roof span and forty overhead
    cranes.
oldest bus I went on in service this year. Open top Prefix D registration.
We had a bus rally one sunday. Went from StIves to Penzance on open top. the conductor was issuing bank tickets,no fare charge from his ticket machine. Bus even older.
locally the drivers prefer double deckers as they are easier to turn round on the runs out into the villages.
Mullion is the tightest squeeze to get the double deckers between the houses. Like a foot either side of the bus between the roofs of the cottages.
Rally buses, Dupals and Immediate post war bedfords. Five bob for a thirty mile trip when I was a Kid in North Dorset .Five buses a week came into the Highest village in Dorset in a week.
The cows were all milked by hand by girt hard maids. They had to be girt to push the cows into the milking parlour.
One of them only had five cows to milk. She did not have time to sit down to milk them ,so she did the job standing up.

    Kilted Friday, Not

With a Kilt Night with the local Scottish Society, I kilted up today for work in my USA Kilts semi-trad in Malcolm modern. As I was placing some paperwork in a member's internal mailbox, a resident came in and asked what's the occasion?

I said I have a Kilt Night this evening at Park Lane Tavern, it just makes sense to get dressed just once. She laughed and said you always look nice in your kilts. She asked about my Sporran which is a Freedom Carry All, so I showed her all of its nice features.

Later in the morning, a lady who had finished the morning exercises at the clubhouse who noted I was kilted. She shared with me how missed going to Highland Games. I encouraged her to go to the VA Scottish Games coming up on Labor Day Weekend.

A resident was talking to me as I was seated at my desk. He commented on belt buckle and said it was quite good looking. He asked if it was my family clan crest. No, so he learned about this forum. [Please no lectures on wearing a conflicting crest and tartan. ]

Did a inspection of today's cut by our grounds contractor responding to complaints. Waves, smiles and compliments by those whom I encountered.

Afterwards at the office, a real estate agent and her client came to Clubhouse. They had a few questions on the community. The agent commented you are the kilted guy we saw walking through the community. She asked about the stick in my sock and learned about the sgian dubh.

A good day at work. Now off to the local.

    Kilted Fridays, I'm on board.

This is great. I never need a reason, but now i've got one - 'cuz it's friday!

All you gents look great, and I'm getting so many ideas on how to pair up the kilt with my other duds.
